Retired General Alexandru Găluscă serves as Director of Education at Smart Suport Hub, an educational center focused on intelligence, security, disaster risk recovery and top management training. He is an Instructor in disaster recovery for Est-Europe, an Associate Lecturer at the National Defense University and a Lecturer at the Centre for Advanced Strategies.
From 2012-14, he served as Deputy Military Representative to NATO and EU and from 2009-12 he was Chief of Doctrine and Training of the Air Force Staff. From 2005-09, he held positions at the General Staff and from 2003-05 he served as Defense, Aero, Navy and Military Attaché of Romania at Beijing, the Popular Republic of China. Before working for a number of years in Military Intelligence Mr. Găluscă went from pilot, squadron leader in the Air Force Staff operational units to staff officer, helicopter unit commander, and Chief of Air Safety.
He served abroad in a number of missions such as Puma SOCAT Romanian helicopter upgrade program, Haifa where he was a team leader; UNIKOM where he served as Chief Operations and Air Support, and the Crisis Management Exercises which he planned and organized.
Mr. Găluscă is currently enrolled in a PhD in Military Sciences. He holds a PhD in Military and Economic Sciences and is a graduate of the Air Force and Air Defense Faculty of the University of National Defense and of the Cybernetics Faculty of the Academy of Economic Studies. Mr. Găluscă took a post-graduate course on national security from the National Defense College, a pedagogy course at the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Bucharest, courses on air safety from the French Institute for Air Safety, Paris and advanced courses in Command and Staff from the University of National Defense.
